After you do this label thing for a while, you start to recognize how each artist has their own modus operandi, their own rhythm to how they create, work, and live. Some are always recording, have a vault full of projects, but only a trickle of that ever sees the light of day. Others don’t go near a booth for months or even years, then out of nowhere there is a finished album they never mentioned sitting in your Dropbox. Some cats wake up from a daydream and  make a record in a month , while the next artist meticulously plans out a project, then ends up turning in a different one before they finish it.

PremRock is a tireless worker; collaborations, features, touring, he is always in the mix and he works with precision, no throwaways. Just last year ShrapKnel dropped their best album to date, and Prem linked back up with his old homie Willie Green for a really dope EP.  But when it comes to PremRock solo albums, those don't show up often but they are always deeply personal, beautifully crafted and lyrically rich labors of love. His new album is no different.  It has been almost four years since 2021’s Load Bearing Crow’s Feet and Backwoodz is happy to announce PremRock’s upcoming LP Did You Enjoy Your Time Here…? Prem goes way back with us and we are thrilled to be putting out his newest record, it’s an immersive, knotty  listen and arguably his best work. Right on time. NEW ALBUM COMING OUT MARCH 21

Did You Enjoy Your Time Here…? is the new studio album from Backwoodz Studioz artist PremRock(perhaps best known as ½ of ShrapKnel; the sobering yin to Curly Castro’s furious yang). DYEYTHpicks up where Prem’s pensive Backwoodz debut, 2021’s Load Bearing Crow’s Feet, left off; clear-eyed, heartfelt, and unsparingly witty. The album boasts production from Sebb Bash, Blockhead, YUNGMORPHEUS, Child Actor, Controller 7, ELUCID, Small Professor, Jeff Markey, & Fines Double while Prem’s longtime collaborator Willie Green weaves everything together. Lyrically Prem is aided and abetted by some of the world’s best, Pink Siifu, billy woods, Cavalier, Nappy Nina, Illogic, AJ Suede, Mary Esther Carter and of course Castro. Each guest extracts the best out of the mixture and producing fruitful collaborations not merely guest verses. Featuring original artwork inspired by the record from Chicago artist Gabe Karagianis.

The best turns of phrase are the ones that provide more than one meaning. Like staring at an abstract painting, words can mean different things to different people.
