DESCRIPTION: After turning the album in late last year, ELUCID went on a short European tour. One of the stops was in Zurich, Switzerland, a hop and a skip from Lausanne, where Sebb Bash lives. As planned, after the show ELUCID caught a train and spent two days in Sebb’s underground bunker of a studio. Together they created an entirely new body of work; envisioned as more of a transmission than an album, a time capsule filled with nitroglycerin and funk. It’s both tightly wound in its arrangement—Sebb is Swiss, after all—and disarmingly loose in its affect. We decided to call the new record 48 HRS and pair it with I Guess U Had To Be There as part of a Backwoodz-only deluxe package. That package has its own unique artwork featuring a cover photo from NYC legend Jamel Shabazz, as well as additional photography by Alexander Richter. 48 HRS vinyl also includes the instrumentals on its B-side, and will not be on streaming services anytime soon, if ever. This version of the album is limited to 1,000 copies, direct from Backwoodz Studioz, so grab them now because once they are gone, they’re gone.
