It’s still early, but six months after it dropped, Aethiopes has the feeling of a masterpiece. Not only is there no other album like it, we don’t think anyone has ever even tried to make an album like it. Experimental, uncompromising, grand in scope and yet intimate in its workings, Preservation and woods did something really special with this one.
